“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10 NIV)
David did not start with strategy. He started with himself. The Hebrew word for “create” is the same word used in Genesis 1, the kind of work only God can do. A pure heart is not something we manufacture. It is something God renews.
If you have been carrying weariness, doubt, or quiet shame into your leadership, you do not have to fix yourself first. You only have to bring yourself. God still creates from the inside out.
Prayer
God, before we lead another initiative, lead us. Renew the steadfast spirit we cannot renew on our own. Restore the joy that first sent us into this work. Amen.
