Scripture
“Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us.” (Hosea 6:1a NIV)
The Hebrew word for “return” is the same word translated “repent.” It means to turn around, to stop walking the direction you are walking. To pivot back toward God, then walk forward with Him.
If you cannot see the way forward, you may simply be invited to return first. The first move in any real renewal is not invention. It is return to the One we drifted from. He is ready to heal what our wandering has broken.
Prayer
Lord, before we move forward, turn us around. Heal what our drift has broken. Bring us back to the first things so that the new things You have for us hold. Amen.
