Scripture

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19a NIV)

God spoke this to people in exile, still grieving everything they had lost. He did not minimize the loss. He simply refused to let it become a ceiling. He was already doing a new thing, and the question was whether they could perceive it.

The same is true for you and for your church. God is already at work in places you have not yet looked. Honor the history. Refuse to camp there. Open your eyes to what is springing up now.

Prayer

Lord, open our eyes to the new thing You are doing now, even in places we did not think to look. We refuse to make a monument of yesterday. Amen.
