Acts reveals a pattern: When believers are filled with the Spirit, they speak boldly, serve courageously, and cross boundaries for the sake of Christ.

The Spirit’s gifting always moves outward.

A local church that systematically teaches, discerns, and deploys spiritual gifts becomes a sending church. It releases teachers, mercy ministers, evangelists, and planters into neighborhoods and regions.

It also creates a culture where every believer understands their calling.

This transforms the identity of the local church from:

  • Consumer gathering → Mission community
  • Clergy-centered ministry → Body-driven ministry
  • Maintenance institution → Multiplying movement

If the mission of God is to reconcile the world to Himself through Christ, then every spiritual gift is part of that redemptive strategy.

Teaching people to use and leverage their spiritual gifts is not optional enrichment. It is obedience to Christ’s design for His body.

A gifted church is a mature church.

A mature church is a unified church.

A unified church is a sent church.

And a sent church reflects most clearly the ministry we read about in the New Testament.

Dr. Tracee J. Swank guides Kingdom-minded leaders, churches, and entrepreneurs to clarify their purpose, reimagine mission, and multiply hope—so they can lead entrepreneurial movements that transform communities and advance the Great Commission.
