Getting Started with the Momentum Resource Library

The Momentum Resource Library is designed to help you move from ideas to action. Whether you’re seeking to renew congregational life, strengthen outreach, develop leaders, or explore new approaches to ministry, you’ll find practical tools, training, and guidance to help you take your next step.

You don’t have to figure everything out at once. Start where you are and build momentum.

How to Get Started

1. Start with Your Church’s Current Reality

Every congregation has unique strengths, challenges, and opportunities for mission. Before exploring new strategies, take time to consider where your church is today and where God may be leading you.

Reflect on your congregation’s current ministry, its connection with the surrounding community, and the opportunities you see for greater missional engagement.

Coming Soon: The Momentum Key Issue Assessment

Not sure where to begin? The Momentum Key Issue Assessment is a free assessment designed to help you identify your church’s most pressing issue and connect you with practical resources to help address it.

2. Explore the Training Pathways

The Resource Library is organized into the seven Momentum training pathways that address key areas of congregational life, leadership, discipleship, and mission.

You don’t need to complete every pathway. Begin with the topic that best addresses your church’s current needs and opportunities.

Each pathway provides resources to help you learn, reflect, and take practical action.

3. Put Learning into Action

Momentum is about more than gaining knowledge. It’s about creating meaningful change.

As you explore resources, consider three questions:

  • What are we learning about our church and community?
  • What needs to change in how we approach mission?
  • What is one practical step we can take in the next 30 days?

Start small, engage others, and build on what you learn.

4. Connect, Collaborate, and Keep Moving

You don’t have to lead change alone.

Momentum connects leaders and congregations who are learning, experimenting, and discovering new ways to participate in God’s mission.

Take advantage of opportunities for coaching, shared learning, collaboration, and encouragement as you move forward.

Remember: Mission Is a Movement, Not a Program

Lasting missional transformation doesn’t happen by adding another church program. It begins when leaders and congregations develop new ways of thinking, engaging their communities, discipling people, and participating in God’s mission.

Start with one resource. Take one step. Engage one more person.

That’s how momentum begins.
