Scripture
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29-30 NIV)
Jesus did not offer rest from work. He offered a different way of working, paired with Him, paced by Him, lightened by Him. A yoke joined two animals so they could pull together. He is offering to share the load.
If your pace right now feels unsustainable, that is not Jesus’ pace. He is gentle, and His burden is light. He is inviting you to slow down with Him, not without Him.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, yoke us to You. Let the labor we do for You run on Your strength, not on the leftovers of ours. Teach us Your pace. Amen.
